Nomination Criteria
The Nomination Criteria:
The Hall of Fame will be held evey four years to coincide with the Commonwealth Games and the Scottish Swimming Awards Ceremony.
The Committee has suggested the following selection criteria to be considered for Scottish Swimming Hall of Fame nominees in future years - however the criteria outline below does not include the 2010 nominees as the final criteria will be decided in advance of the 2014 Awards Ceremony.
General:
- Athlete to be a medallist in Olympic Games & World Championship events.
- Athlete to be a Gold medallist at Commonwealth Games.
- Individual medallists will be recognised ahead of relay medallists
- All nominees will have to have been retired from professional aquatics events for at least four years prior to their induction to the Hall of Fame.
At present, Scottish Swimming will only consider athletes to be inducted in to the Scottish Swimming Hall of Fame, they will not consider coaches or volunteers.
The Scottish Swimming committee members will consider all nominees that meet the criteria outlined above and make final decisions on nominees at a date to be set closer to the 2014 Awards Ceremony.
